How We Do It
Continuity Care is a not-for- profit organization dedicated to supporting families in Manitoba to plan for an enriched quality of life for their family member with an intellectual disability.
As a registered, not-for- profit charity with a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors, our permanent staff currently consists of one full-time executive director, one member support & outreach facilitator and one part-time office administrator.
We may be a small organization, but we are effective. We pride ourselves on making one-to- one connections with our members and families to create lasting support networks and plans for each person.
“Support is such an important part of what I do each day, whether it’s a phone call, an email or meeting in person. When a new parent or sibling comes out to our support groups and feels safe enough to share their story, I know that we are providing a valuable service. They know that they are not alone on their journey.”
– Suzanne Swanton, Executive Director
Our main source of funding is our Endowment Fund that sustains the core operation of our organization in perpetuity. We also fundraise and seek out grant opportunities to cover the remainder of our operating and program costs.
A founding principle of Continuity Care is that we do not rely on government funding. This has allowed us to remain an autonomous, independent voice to advocate on behalf of families when needed.
We therefore rely on our members and the generosity of our partners and donors to ensure we’ll be here in perpetuity for the people we serve. If you’d like to support Continuity Care, there are many ways to give: join us a volunteer, become a member or make a donation.
Your support is always appreciated!
